What is a fly-in restaurant or hundred-dollar hamburger?
A fly-in restaurant is an airfield restaurant that pilots reach by aircraft. Hundred-dollar hamburger is the tongue-in-cheek term for flying somewhere just for a meal - the fuel costs more than the food.
Do I need PPR to fly in for a meal?
Not everywhere. Many Dutch fields are PPR (prior permission required) or keep limited hours, and most charge a landing fee. Check the field AIP and opening hours before you fly, and ring ahead if in doubt.
